Brunson’s Legacy & People Assisting Animal Welfare (PAAW):

A citizen led initiative to bridge the animal welfare divide in our community through community, educational and legislative efforts.

Welcome to Brunson’s Legacy: People Assisting Animal Welfare.

In partnership with The Montgomery County Animal Welfare Task Force.

Brunson’s Legacy was born from the life of one dog who became so much more to a community. Brunson became a symbol of hope, compassion, and advocacy in the local fight against animal cruelty. His journey inspired his adopted mom, Kristen, to create a movement, and People Assisting Animal Welfare (PAAW) was created to carry his story and legacy forward.

PAAW was created to educate and empower the community and drive legislative change to protect animals. From grassroots outreach to policy reform every single initiative is driven by a commitment to making our communities safer and more compassionate for animals in need.

As of June 2025, this website is also serving as the central hub for The Montgomery County Animal Welfare Task Force- a collaborative effort of advocates, organizations and legislators working together to address urgent animal welfare issues in our communities. Here, community members can access vital resources, stay updated on local events and find ways to get involved.

Together we are building a community that is safer, stronger, and a beacon of hope for animal welfare.
